August 15th, 2018 - The Alvarado VFW Post 9299 at 6732 E. Hwy. 67 is hosting a
special ceremony commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.
U.S. Congressman Roger Williams will be presenting certificated and pins in
recognition of a qualified veteran or surviving family member.
It’s about Fair time again and that means a parade. On Saturday 18 August 2018 the parade will start at Denton High School. Line up at 8:30 AM. We usually form up in the parking lot north of the school on Crescent Street. The parade starts at 10 AM. If possible (but certainly not mandatory) try to let me know if you are going to be there for the parade. Dennis Boots is your point of contact. Saturday, September 1st at the Dallas – Fort Worth Commerative Air Force Wing at 650 Farris Rd., Lancaster, TX. 76132. Great air show and vehicle display. and Sunday, October 13-14, 2018 at Alliance Airport in N. Fort Worth. This is the largest Airshow in the area featuring both modern and historical aircraft. U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds AND Canada’s Airforce Snowbirds are featured at the show this year. Gate hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM each day. Parking starts at $30.00. General admission is free. About 60,000 people attend each day. Vehicles are invited for display. Pre-register to attend.

Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2200 E. I20 Frontage Road in Arlington near Hwy 360. Check in is from 2:00 to 3:00, Voting from 3:00 to 4:00 and awards at 5:00. Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, entry fee $20. If you have not been to Summit Racing yet it is worth the trip by itself.
Friday through Sunday, October 19, 20 and 21st, 2018 at Fort Hood near Killeen, TX. This includes incredible unequaled access to the base and tank trails. III Corps will be celebrating their 100th anniversary over a 2-week period (Oct. 6-21st) Vehicles can participate in displays and/or trail rally. Camping available at BLORA park nearby with trailer spaces, tent spaces and cabins. This does require pre-registration for access to the base areas. Check out the web page and face book for detail.
Friday, November 9th to Sunday November 10th. Allied and Axis troops, equipment and vehicles take over Waxahachie for the weekend culminating in a battle royal at the train depot Sunday afternoon. Featuring allied and axis camps and meet and greets. See website and facebook page for details. Registration required.
Saturday, November 10th from 10 AM to 5 PM at Keller Town Hall. Sponsored by Statewide Remodeling. This is a huge cool car show. Registration is $25. Registration and donations support the Alex Viola Foundation, Special Operations Warrior Foundation and Green Beret Foundation.
Saturday, November 10th at Panther Pavilion 395 Purcey St. Fort Worth, TX. 76102. Line up at 09:30 AM. Parade starts at 10:30 AM. Sponsored by the Tarrant County Veteran's Council. Saturday, November 10th in downtown Arlington. This is the second year for this parade. Staging area is at S. Cooper St. and W. Abram St. on the UT-Arlington campus. The purpose of the parade is to bring the Arlington community together to honor and celebrate Arlington’s police, fire, active duty military, and veterans while also highlighting the many organizations that help individuals who serve or have served in one of these service groups. We will be pre-registered for this parade, also.
Monday, November 12th just south of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Parade ends at Dallas City Hall. Set up at 09:30 AM. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI. Parade finishes around noon. Requires registration.
Saturday, December 22, 2018 at TCU's Amon Carter Football Stadium. Vehicles for static display for the fans to enjoy before the game. Details to come.
